ABOUT VANTAGE COACHING
Every coaching relationship begins with a shared philosophy. These principles shape how I work and the space I create for clients.
Philosophy & Values
At the heart of my coaching is a simple belief: the answers you’re searching for are already within you. Often, we’re just standing too close to see them clearly. My role is to help you shift perspective, uncover insights that matter, and turn them into practical steps that create real momentum. This isn’t about climbing faster or chasing someone else’s version of success. It’s about realigning with what feels true for you and moving forward with clarity and courage.
Wisdom
Timeless, not trendy. Wisdom is the humility to recognize what you don’t know, the openness to learn, and the discipline to turn reflection into clarity.
Authenticity
Aligned action creates meaningful results. When actions are rooted in truth and purpose, progress becomes sustainable, not performative.
Courage
The strength to move forward despite fear. Progress comes from leaning into uncertainty with intention, because the meaningful path is rarely the easiest.
Equanimity
Rationality over reactivity. Clear thinking and calm presence lead to better decisions, especially under pressure. Equanimity begins with acceptance of where you are, so you can choose where you’re going.
Temperance
Restraint as power. Growth isn’t always acceleration; sometimes it is knowing when to pause, simplify, or let go. Temperance is the discipline to act on what is important, not just what is urgent.
These ideas are informed by my own journey through change and growth both in business and in life.
About your coach
I’ve sat in very different seats: analyst, team leader, and eventually head of a global function at a Fortune 500 company. I’ve worked in both the scale of big corporates and the intensity of high-growth unicorns. In my twenties, I even moved to a country I’d never set foot in before, knowing no one, to take on a new role and build a new life.
On paper, that career looked successful. But when I got to the top of the ladder, I realised it was leaning against the wrong building. The view wasn’t what I’d hoped for, that sparked a change. That experience shaped the heart of Vantage Coaching. I trained at the University of Cambridge in evidence-based coaching, blending positive psychology, gestalt, and humanistic approaches. My work now is to help others at similar crossroads: people questioning their next step, exploring career changes, stepping into leadership, or moving across geographies and roles.
I combine lived experience with academic training to create a space that is both reflective and practical. Clients come to me when they want clarity, confidence, and a vantage point that shows new paths they couldn’t see before.
“Working with Mike gave me the space to reflect honestly and move forward with confidence. The conversations were supportive, thoughtful, and always constructive.”
– Josh Fields, Founder / Tech Entrepreneur

Why I Coach
I’ve chased promotions, moved countries, and ticked every box of “success,” only to realise it wasn’t fulfillment. I climbed the ladder, shifted industries, and reinvented myself more than once. Each time I learned that progress only mattered when it aligned with what felt true inside.
That’s why I do this work. I know what it’s like to look successful on the outside but feel restless on the inside. Coaching helped me find clarity and alignment, and now I’m here to help others navigate those same crossroads with more clarity, courage, and confidence than I had at the time.
If you’re standing at a crossroads, wondering what comes next, know that you’re not alone.
